The Lord’s Name

“God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.” – Genesis 1:31
“Every good and perfect gift is from above…” – James 1:17
“For everything created by God is good…” – 1 Timothy 4:4
“For I know the plans I have for you…plans to prosper you and not to harm you…” – Jeremiah 29:11
Here’s the tea.
(It’s pipping HOT today. Might want get the butter out for the burns)

I’ve said it before. I’ll say it again: God created science that tells us separating a child from their parents, at any age, damages the child. From brain to body.
You can’t claim pro-life because science says a baby has a heartbeat at 6 weeks, but ignore the science that says foster and adopted children’s bodies have been damaged and changed permanently.

Separating children from their parents harms the child.
Separating children from their parents is not good.
Separating children from their parents is not of God.

When we use God to justify separating children from their parents… we are taking His name in vain.

Before you get ragey and go full internet troll: There are 100% caveats. The safety of the child always takes precedence. Don’t come into my comments or DMs thumbs-a-blazin’ defending your story. Your emotional reaction to this is yours to handle in private. *See Google search for adoption competent therapist in my area.*

“But God CALLED us to adopt!”
Maybe He asked you to stand in the gap?
Maybe your “calling” was the result of an intense desire.

“But God gives us the desires of our hearts!”
Not when they are counter to His goodness which He must maintain because if God ceases to be good, then our religion is false.

“BUT God was in our adoption story!”Yes. Maybe. But was he calling you to separate a child from their parents or was He asking you to do something much more uncomfortable and you took the “easy route” and manipulated His words to meet your earthly desires?

If this is really about the child, then there is so much more to do than adopt.

The very foundation of adoption is trauma.
Stop wielding God’s name to justify it.
You are taking God’s name in vain.

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed by thine name…”
